Gathering Insights for an Improved UI

A member-focused agricultural nonprofit client was looking to improve the usability and functionality of its website. They were looking to uncover user motivations, barriers, and priorities to better guide a redesign that improved clarity, accessibility, and overall experience.

Qualitative Research Collection

Meyocks conducted participatory workshops with farmers and staff to explore how and why they use the website, the challenges they face and their desired improvements. A qualitative thematic analysis of the discussions revealed key user patterns and needs.

Revealing Opportunities for Improvement

Our workshops were able to reveal critical gaps between user needs and the site’s true performance. Our research revealed:

  • Site visitors were primarily seeking research materials, event registration and staff connections. However, they were having trouble completing these core tasks.
  • Users described the site as overwhelming, difficult to navigate and criticized the unclear messaging on the organization’s mission.
  • Stronger communication tools and enhanced accessibility features were what users recommended.

These insights provided a clear roadmap for a user-centered website redesign that helped both the clients and staff.
