Helping a Multi-State Ag Lender Connect through Change

As a cooperatively owned agricultural lender embarked on a wave of structural changes, the organization sought to optimize messaging to connect and boost confidence within their audiences. Clear, research-based insights would reveal how stakeholders felt about the changes so far and what messaging would resonate in the right way.

Adding Clarity to Internal Change

With the primary goal of uncovering unfiltered, honest perspectives from both employees and customer-owners, Meyocks applied a change management lens and leveraged our behavioral insight expertise. We developed and executed a multi-phased, mixed-methods approach:

  • Created research methodology through a mix of qualitative and quantitative instruments, including interview guides and employee and customer surveys.
  • Conducted ethnographic observations during an executive level leadership workshop and an all-day leadership session.
  • Facilitated two structured manager feedback sessions along with a series of in-depth employee interviews.
  • Led one-on-one customer interviews.
  • Deployed online surveys to employees and external audiences.
  • Synthesized findings into a narrative framework and actionable insights.

Gathering Insights to Guide a Communications Roadmap

Emerging insights directly shaped the tone, timing, messaging and structure of the strategic communications plan. Our team was able to:

  • Clarify key stakeholder concerns, motivators, and expectations.
  • Reshape the content of the messaging to directly address gaps in understandings.
  • Provide a baseline of change perception for both employee and customer-owners that we could use to measure the impact of our communication plan.
  • Equip the client with a communications roadmap grounded in empathy and alignment.
